Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 3-User Review

Kaspersky Internet Security continues to provide users with a high level of protection that the security tools not offered by many competitors include. The 2011 version will not change the face of the personal computer security, although this particular set of security options and top-shelf performance has attracted enough fans to make a best-selling program, both in terms of safety.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 3-User Review

Installation:

Kaspersky Internet Security installation did not go so smoothly this year as it had in previous years. The system is always very sensitive to the presence of competing security suites, but this year we thought it would abort the installation process, even for minor tracks left in the registry. This is clearly a known issue, and a Knowledge Base article can help users struggling with the bug to get around.

Sure, it’s not recommended that users running multiple simultaneous security suites. It will not help protect your computer, and will likely lead to performance and safety problems that would not otherwise occur. Still, a less-than-smooth installation easy to deter people who lack the time, energy or expertise to deal with the problem.

Interface:

This year is the interface has not changed dramatically from last year, but there are some noticeable improvements. While Kaspersky still has the left navigation bar, the instruments have been streamlined, the submenus better organized, and the various screens to open much faster. The Snappy responsiveness of the menus open and close will be a long way towards helping new users to manage what would be an overwhelming number of options, while more experienced users will just appreciate to get to where they want without dealing with inertia.

The new navigation organization has much to do with making comprehensive toolset Kaspersky is easy to work through. The Protection Center holds most of the basic antivirus tools, and Run Safe access to the sandboxing tools have been expanded in this version. These are followed by scanning, update and Parental Control Center, which speak for themselves. While a scan is conducted users are not locked in the Scan pane, meaning you can use other aspects of Kaspersky at the same time. The Tools section, which is the last access various support tools that can be used to improve security, but should not be regarded as important tools. These include creating a restore disk, analyze vulnerabilities of third-party programs on your system, a configuration tool for your browser, and a system restore option.

Users familiar with Kaspersky will notice that the program now that most of his scans folds in the Settings interface. From the Scan tab on the main interface, you can only access the critical areas to scan and full scan. The vulnerability scan is available from the Tools tab, or the Settings menu, while the Custom Scan is only available in the Settings menu. There are buttons for creating links to desktop scanning, but that is not as intuitive as we’d like.

Features and support:

There are several new and notable features of Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, including improvements to the sandboxing tool introduced last year called Safe Run. The updates to Safe Run the function can be used on the desktop itself, the protection of users throughout the system. The app access to safe Run consists of a directory that files created during Safe Run bottlenecks, so they are stored on the desktop unsandboxed, but they scan for threats before so they can move freely about your system.

Kaspersky is clearly proud of the product, promoting it to a more prominent place in the navigation, and it works better than last year. The transition between states is sandboxed and unsandboxed smooth. It is designed to resemble the standard Windows remote access tool, so getting around in the function presents a nearly flat learning curve.

The new SafeSurf option is partially derived from Safe Run. It launches websites in a safe environment, before these completely fix your computer for known threats. This is useful for preventing legitimate sites infected infect you. This works parallel to the phishing-prevention function, which is a more aggressive attitude in the release of this year, by searching for URLs functions that can often indicate a phishing attack. Theattempt will not occur in a vacuum, but because Kaspersky would be home, so the company could further researchers to analyze the threat ping.

The Rescue CD now comes with a USB option, making it easier to carry around a repair kit. Kaspersky is also touting the new program features to install on heavily infected computers. This is a very useful tool, because many modern infections are designed to avoid detection and removal tool installed. A third party vulnerability scan will check and programs such as Adobe Flash, who regularly access the Internet with unpatched holes to repair, while a Windows desktop gadget provides quick access to both basic and advanced security management for Vista and Windows 7 users.

The new system Watcher is a nice name for the renovated system log, which a more active stance against harmful activities taking place. Will log the activities of non-verified applications on your system, and roll back any changes they make when they are committed to evil. Meanwhile, parents are seeking greater control can now have their children access to a program on the computer off, and there is oem software. A new gaming mode, the tool will stop when watching movies or playing games.

Office for Mac 2011 Home & Student -Family Pack Review

Office on the Mac has always been considered a bit of an after-thought – it is perhaps understandable driven by the Windows version, which is obviously much more lucrative, but as Office for Mac 2011 takes elements from both Office 2007 and 2010 on PC , it is still very much a Mac application to look and feel.

Office for Mac 2011 Home & Student -Family Pack Review

As with earlier versions of Office for Mac, only the core Office applications – Word, Excel and PowerPoint (plus Outlook, on the Home and Business Edition – a brand new application to replace Entourage) – are given here. The biggest change in this 2011 version is the addition of the Office ribbon instead of floating toolbars, making all important tools together in an accessible location that will not quickly descend into a mess.

Microsoft also claims the program is much more compatible with its Windows brother, although there is some evidence that at the expense of compatibility with Office 2008 for Mac. Collaboration is now easier – several people can simultaneously edit the same document – and the performance seems to be greatly improved.

Word 2011 is more an evolution than revolution compared to its immediate predecessor. Existing functions are aligned – there are more templates and themes, such as a navigation sidebar makes the document easier to move and immediately highlights the Spotlight search results. Visual styles you can preview changes before they are made and there is a full-screen option for editing, without the distraction of toolbars and other screen real estate.

Similar changes and improvements can be found in other applications including: Word 2011 re-gaining support for macros, and there is improvement in the conditional formatting as well. Like its Windows equivalent, now closing PowerPoint presentation and video directly into ahandy feature allows you to reorder objects in multiple layers as a 3D fan, so they stack in the correct order quickly and easily.

Spotify Radio With Wooden Discs

The designer of this cool radio Spotify prototype Jordi Parra. You might remember this dude as the man who had a hand in making those cool piggy bank last month. The latest designs you see here is all Parra, and he would even take to Kickstarter to get the funds to make a reality.

Spotify Radio With Wooden Discs

The Spotify radio would connect your PC to stream music from the music site. The fun part is that you can take small disks and they sit on the front of the radio as an old school record and the radio will automatically play the online playlist associated with the wooden disk.

With these you can distribute virtual mix tapes to your friends, just like 80 years. The radio part would have WiFi connectivity and the drives would use RFID to identify themselves. Buttons on the radio would let users skip tracks and more. As it stands, the device would connect to a computer, but Parra hopes Arduino and an ARM processor to use to eventually make the current situation only.

New Sony Retro Radio

I stopped listening to radio when I was actually a radio DJ and frankly, I’ve never gone back to listen to the radio. It helps that I no longer have a car, but I love the new retro boom boxes and radios we’ve seen. They just make a device more attractive.

New Sony Retro Radio

This retro radio is the XDR S16DBP and it looks pretty funky, thanks to its nicely rounded corners and wood. It does not have much power at 0.8W/channel, but it will get the job done in the cabin or in the garden to get. If I still need a radio, I would probably opt for something like this or a Logitech Squeezebox. Keep in mind that a DAB / DAB + radio, digital transmissions so only work in certain countries. It makes FM tune well, though. There is no word on whether or not Sony is working on a version for the U.S. or other markets.

Design is not the only retro thing about this radio – it’s a one-trick pony. It can not be used as a dock, and has no additional inputs. It’s just a radio, which is a bit limited in this day and age. But if you want to listen only to over-the-air broadcasts, you have served.

New Earphones from Audio-Technica and Brainwavz

Two different companies have announced new high-end earbud headphones, an excellent sound quality at a reasonable price to offer. Audio-Technica are now shipping their in-ear ATH ANC23 active noise-canceling headphones that claim to 90% noise-canceling performance of 20-20,000 Hz while maintaining performance while Brainwavz have been dual-balanced armature earphones they call their highest-not the end, the Brainwavz B2 which will be shipping end of April.

New Earphones from Audio-Technica and Brainwavz

The Audio-Technica earphones feature Comply “memory-foam-style” foam tips for extra comfort and an in-line volume control. The ATH-ANC23 uses quiet point technology with miniature microphones to sample the ambient noise and deliver a customized, equivalent noise-canceling signal that works even when no music is heard, and the headphones continue to work as normal headphones, even if the batteries run out (they are suitable for up to 60 hours on a single AAA alkaline battery). The company says the foam tips are 30 times softer than standard earbuds, and the kit comes with three sets of large, medium and small ears. They retail for $ 100

B2 Brainwavz headphones ($ 170) do not have noise cancellation technology, instead preferring to focus on sound. They are due to strong reviews and very convenient for the Ultimate Ears’ UE-700 headphones. They are also assessed 20-20,000 Hz with a higher impedance than the Audio Technicas (40 versus 32 ohms) and a higher sensitivity (110dB vs 105dB). The dual armature design keeps highs and lows neatly separated, and the company is proud of their twisted Cu-Ag alloy wire that is built for durability.

The ATH-ANC23s are now available directly from Audio-Technica and their various resellers. The headset Brainwavz B2 ship late next month, and can be ordered from the company or on Amazon.com (and Amazon.co.uk), among other places.

Frieling JOY Kitchen Scale With A Built-In iPod Dock

I think there’s nothing wrong with a little background music while cooking, and nobody likes a unitasker in the kitchen, so Frieling, the makers of some clever kitchen scale we set, which recently introduced the joy of their lineup.

Frieling JOY Kitchen Scale With A Built-In iPod Dock

Such as kitchen scales go it’s pretty run of the mill with the ability to weight in grams or grams to display, but in terms of design scores a number of high points. The weighing surface is made of stylish, transparent safety glass, which is a fairly large speaker is exposed below. I am a little worried about food dripping down already, or iPod / iPhone docking port, and it seems like your eating a bit of counter space when not in use. But if your kitchen is the center of high-techery in your home, you can one from Amazon for $ 99.99.

Amazon announces Cloud Drive and Cloud Player

Amazon in the night unveiled its rumored media locker and hit Apple and Google in the process. Cloud Drive gives users a way to get a minimum of 5 GB of files to store on the internet and access them from any Mac or PC. The company has a unique match Amazon MP3: all songs purchased from the music store are stored in the Cloud Drive and available for either backup or remote streaming without counting towards the quota.

Amazon announces Cloud Drive and Cloud Player

The company has therefore both a Cloud player for the Web and an updated version of Amazon MP3 for Android (free market). Both can play music stored on the player without a third party app or other raw access.

The retailer rush to operate without a complete service to get music licenses is clearly a lack of proper synchronization. Music uploads are only possible by computers and not Android will let users back up their purchases Amazon MP3 player to work independently from a computer. It would not explain why and said it was simply “not possible at this time.” Leaks have hinted that the labels are pushing for a second charge in the media uploads to allow, under certain conditions.

AppleInsider reports that Sony and other parties involved in the negotiations have been disturbed by the fact that the service went “live” without licensing in place, with some viewing the move as illegal. A spokesman for Sony said the company was “keeping its legal options open,” but expressed hope that the two companies could soon come to an agreement.

American Amazon customers can get 5 GB of space for free, but get an incentive to upgrade early. Anyone who buys an album in 2011, Amazon MP3 will automatically be upgraded to 20GB of space for the year of the sale. The extra capacity would otherwise cost $ 20 per year. Tiers include 50GB, 100GB, 200GB, 500GB and 1TB, all of which cost $ 1 per year for each gigabyte of storage. Using the Cloud player on the Internet needs Chrome, Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer or Safari 8; Amazon MP3 Android has at least 1.6.

The move is a little surprise. Amazon’s S3 storage service was all business, but Apple and Google were both aware that the longer negotiations. Apple is believed to be tied into the media closet with MobileMe and has hinted it could come as soon as spring, when the North Carolina data center goes live. Google, meanwhile, is still negotiating Google Music after nearly one year, probably due to the same licensing limits faced by Amazon.

New Casio G-SHOCK

The new Casio G-Shock watch will come with Bluetooth connectivity, so it’s time to adjust around the world by connecting your smartphone to its time constant in sync, including time zone changes. That’s kind of interesting because you do not have to watch not to forward or backward.

New Casio G-SHOCK

However, what happens if your iPhone is the wrong time, like what happened over New Year’s and when the summer was over? I do not know, but hopefully it will be able to watch themselves accordingly. By using a new variant of the name Bluetooth Bluetooth Low Energy, the single-cell ion battery is supposed to last two years.

On an unrelated note, also showed their new Casio Baby-G women (not the Bluetooth function). I do not know whether the new Neon Illuminator is actually really great or really crappy. The kind of reminds me of Miami Vice and all that plastic from the ’80s glam. These models will use a special fluorescent ink that will be glowing under black light LED own watch.
