This week at the PMA-camera conference in Las Vegas, has a JVC high-def hybrid camcorder, the Everio X, which has become a symbolic push back against the recent breakthroughs in video cameras.
On the surface, the compact Everio X (or GZ-X900) seems to fully feature-packed for video and still images.
It shoots video at a resolution in the vicinity of 1920 x 1080, and is extremely small and pocketable only 66 lbs. With a 10.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, takes nine-megapixel pictures (see picture quality right), has a rapid fire mode, shoots 15 frames a second, and promises at the same time, 5-megapixel still images in HD Video recording (at a shutter speed of 1 4000.) It also has an interesting 10x slow recording mode (at three different speeds) to connect seems that both video and still images into a potentially seamless action scene.
Because it is good for portability, the camcorder also has a “One Touch” feature built-in, the video downloads on YouTube, such as the iFlip.
