An IR to Bluetooth adapter for the PS3 lets you use Logitech Harmony universal remote to control your PlayStation 3.
Not only can the adapter on and off the PS3 directly from your remote IT powered from a wall outlet instead of any of the PS3 USB ports only on all the functions which the PS3 can be assigned to the remote control buttons. The remote works by first syncing, just like any other standard-Bluetooth PS3 remote to your PlayStation 3 Then it takes in the IR-blasts from your remote control, and translates these commands to Bluetooth. All you have to do is re-add to the PlayStation 3 Logitech Harmony your profile, and it will automatically import the correct IR codes to your remote control.
In practice, it is essentially flawless. I was able to see a Blu-ray movie, DVD and DivX video only from the buttons on my Harmony. It is worth it if you do not like using two different remotes to get something. Especially when one of the remotes is a game controller.
