Gameboy Advance cartridges turned into 4GB flash drives

Posted by admin on Jan 25, 2010 in Games, News, Storage, accessories

I was never a big fan of the Game Boy Advance, so I have no cartridges lying around. But would if I did, I convert it to flash drives, just like this one from etsy seller 8BitMemory. The cartridge top looks awesome as a functional USB flash drive.

8bit currently has several for sale, including Metroid, Super Mario Advance, and Mario Vs. Donkey Kong. All cartridges have a 4GB capacity, and converted it retails for $ 39.99 each.

The Game Boy Advance seems so long ago. We need old.

Leaks 'confirm' DS, PSP sequels will outrun iPod

Discussion of Nintendo with Tegra 2 today won support from new sources of information, also on a faster Free PS3. Detailed explanations of DigitalFoundry say here, that the continuation of the DSi was the future NVIDIA processors to use, not just a “tremendous” jump in speed compared to the DS line, but could as fast as the Wii, while supporting the more visual effects.

The same source also clarifies uses for the chip itself and says it is much younger on the ARM11 architecture, instead of the existing ARM7-based design or the alleged ARM9. The combination of CPU and graphics core would double the number of texture units and shaders (visual effects) nuclei, and theoretically make twice as much at once. While it is expected to use the GeForce 5000-level graphics generations behind desktop hardware from NVIDIA, it is likely to use the same 40-nanometer manufacturing process that the upcoming 300-series GeForce drive and was able to run at a higher clock speed and still less power than those with Tegra now available.

It is not known how Nintendo would use the extra power, although it would allow to drive the two screens of the DS handheld device such as a single processor, although with a higher resolution than the existing system. Similarly, it would allow HD video playback and much more complex 3D.

The PSP supports leak rumors that it is a quad-core SGX543 of Imagination’s PowerVR label use could and much faster than the next Tegra when optimized applications and games for Sony’s handheld. Its performance could theoretically sit between the Xbox and Xbox 360

Release window for the two are not certain and depend on production plans for the chips themselves. Tegra 2 will begin production in 2010 and could lead to a new system arriving the same year. The SGX543 is dependent on other companies and may not come until 2011, depending on who Sony would have chosen to produce the final processor.

While the iPhone has the potential to receive a speed upgrade for next year either Nintendo or Sony releases was significantly intensify the competition for Apple, whose Free iPod touch, iPhone and Free MacBook are much faster than the DS and PSP, while supporting the more online features. The function of gap jeopardize DS sales and prompted responses on both Nintendo and Sony, have answered that with the DSi and PSP LL, GO, and much more Internet-enabled software.

The companies in the UK arm had already confirmed that the go – console, which is larger, 4.25-inch displays as the DSi – and in the UK on this roster. Japanese buyers will not be able to lift the DSi LL of 21 November. It is unlikely that the Japanese version to be able to play American or European game titles will, however, so importing a DSi LL is not a viable way to jump the queue. Razer Announces New Tool for MMO Players

More than in Cologne, Germany, Gamescom is strong, and companies like Razer is not letting the TIME SLIP without any notice. In the case of Razer, they had a doozie lined up for this conference: a 17-button mouse that looks like a kind of futuristic toys, that is, the Naga. It is specified for the Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games, but how can you expect, probably, it is tailor made for the biggest of all, World of Warcraft.

This USB-connected peripherals has a unique 12-key pad on the left side of the mouse, lined up in an easy to use format so that your thumb is not to travel that far to one of the keys. In addition, there are the regular five keys to “normal” mice, which means there is some semblance of a traditional hardware there somewhere. The mouse itself is not just for MMOs, and may be associated with each application, with the key for the configuration of custom mouse buttons, and Razer’s own Windows software that can be used to cover a wide range of links to very specific tasks.

We would be only to say how this thing looks unique, and if it is not too crazy, attractive. Maybe it’s just the publicity pictures, but either way, we pulled and can not wait for this thing to ship, if it ships. At this point, Razer is not letting something other than “soon”. But one good thing that we can away from this is that your costs are not left arm to this peripheral.

Sony’s PlayStation Eye to get facial recognition

Sony’s PlayStation Eye to get facial recognition

Sony has some plans to ensure the capabilities of their facial PlayStation Eye webcam, trying to Microsoft’s Project Natal. Following Kish Hirani, Sony Europe head of the developers, the functionality will be available shortly on the existing hardware, with the developer libraries available for games studios, so they do not need special encoding for the new system.

According to Hirani, the technology will be able to “recognize, sex and age of the face, separate facial features like nose, eyes and ears, and also detect whether you smile or not.” Sounds a little too good to be true. It is also with the upcoming Sony Motion Controller, with the eye-tracking camera X, Y and Z movement through the territory of the glowing ball.

The motion controller’s accelerometer is also used for the prosecution, even if from the perspective of the PlayStation Eye. Developers need to support the new functionality to the titles, but Hirani says, “chances are you’re not on any technology itself.”

Sony PSP Go! to be Available in October

Sony has announced its new PSP Go! Reveals launch date and price. Haz Kirai joked that there are two names: the “worst secrets at E3.” And the PSP Go! As expected, the controller has a 3.8-inch LCD, built-in Bluetooth and 16 GB of internal memory.

It is also 50 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than the original PSP. If you lose a UMD drive, you are obliged to give us a few pounds, right? Without UMD drive, the games load through the Memory Stick Micro slot or via the PlayStation Network. Sony says the PSP classic is still supported and loved on. Are you throwing a tear for the UMD? Be honest.

It should be on 1 October for $ 249 in North America. No info about Europe or Asia yet.
