The nuvi 205W and its smaller siblings, which are 205, Garmin entry-level models, the nuvi 2×5 line, and to predict the functional units not packed powerhouses. However, the nuvi 205W has a few tricks.
The device is loaded with City Navigator NT map data for the neighboring United States, Canada, or a European region, depending on where the equipment was purchased. (Our tester with maps for the lower 48 states, Hawaii has been loaded, and Puerto Rico.) Important roads and highways shows the Garmin a speed limit symbol as a warning to drivers approaching or exceeding the limit.
“Where am I?” a function is hidden in the Tools menu and displays your current GPS location height, the nearest address, and the next intersection, all this can in handy when you are forwarding your location to emergency services and roadside assistance. The function allows a fast connection to the nearest hospitals and police stations.

While the 205W does not support traffic updates out of the box, it can be improved to life, FM traffic updates or MSN Direct subscription-based service with add-on improved antennas and or cradle.
In addition to navigation-based features, the nuvi 205W also has a picture viewer, the pictures (on the internal memory or an inserted SD card store displays), a world clock, a calculator and a unit converter.
