In step with the introduction of the fourth-generation iPod touch, the FCC has posted Apple’s filing for approval in the U.S.. The images show that the iPod touch to have a completely internal antenna, despite the absence of the black plastic cover on the back, managed. He also notes that the antenna is an insulator, to reduce interference, has, although this is more for internal disorders, because the steel is back, not known to be used for the reception.
Internal photos used some early insight into the components for the new iPod, but without expert identification of some of them are unknown. The A4-processor is, of course, but it also shows Hynix RAM and a companion “Apple” chipset. The second custom chip, a companion chip for the A4, as a South Bridge, interfaces, or something that a non-wireless audio task looks like subwoofers car audio.
The battery seems to be the same size or slightly larger compared to the outgoing iPod, despite the slender size like on Magellan RoadMate 1412.
More information should be forthcoming once the new model ships next week, and are sites such as iFixit a chance to dissect to the player. Many of the components should be borrowed from the iPhone 4, including the 512 MB RAM, 802.11n Wi-Fi networks and the front (though not back) camera.
