Rumor: Flip video cameras to get Wi-Fi

Flip cameras are trendy and have been in the last year or two. And rumors that a new feature in the works. My old buddy Wi-Fi.

It’s just a rumor, but it makes sense, Wi-Fi at a cheap camera like the Flip have, so you can upload videos to YouTube or elsewhere. Plus, you would presumably be able to see other videos on it too. Anyway, they were adding more new features if they want to compete. We think this is very likely to be true.

Alaska Airlines offering inflight Wi-Fi

Alaska Airlines offering inflight Wi-FiAlaska Airlines is on the roster of airlines, the satellite-based Wi-Fi service. The service is on a 60-day free trial period on flights between San Jose, California and Seattle with plans to expand to other flights. Does anyone think this is an odd selection of cities to start with? I would be angry if I frequently flew to Anchorage.

The Boeing 737-700 jets will be web browsing, online music, e-mail, chat and much more. Plus, the inflight splash page Quick links to news, music, shopping and services directly to Alaska Air After downloading the free demo version, the airline will determine how much the fees for service on the basis of customer feedback. Tell them to make them cheap.

Blu-ray players from Samsung

Samsung is presenting several new Blu-ray models at the Consumer Electronics Show and plans for the application of these models in order to remain competitive in the multimedia device market. In addition to presenting the world’s first wall-mountable Blu-Ray player, the BD-P4600, the company also the high-capacity BD-P3600.

One of the most impressive features of this new player is Samsung’s wireless capabilities. With a built in Wi-Fi connection, users can access video and music streaming services through providers such as Netflix and Pandora. The players also have 1GB internal flash memory, to provide access to various functions, such as BD Live and Bonus View. In addition to Wi-Fi, the players come with two USB ports open.

The new Blu-Ray players promise a lot more functions, such as large video playback, full audio decoding, and fast loading. With the HDMI connection, the players have the ability to convert standard DVDs for a clear reproduction. The BD-4600 simply mounts on the wall and measures only 1 1 2 cm thick to a smooth design. The models are expected to hit stores in the first half of the year.
